Week 3 Game Recap for the “Flashback’s”

Quote of the week: “I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out!” Rodney Dangerfield (1921 – 2004)

Nice win this week boys!! It was nice to see that we could rebound after a tough loss the week prior.  We definitely need to keep improving offensively as we have yet to play the Hustlers or the Tornadoes who are both solid ball clubs. Lets keep getting better!!

Offensive Line did a great job as Sean only had to scramble a few times and was only sacked once (1) which I think was a result of his flag falling off.

Defensively, we continued to play tough only giving up one (1) score late in the second half.  Keep up the good work D!

NOTABLES:

-Kevin Straker – 10 yd TD Reception

-Vaughn Sanders – 25 yd TD Reception

-Pat Palleschi set the tone for the day on DEFENSE with a pass deflection on the first play of the series. Nice Going!!

-Sean Lyons rebounded nicely with two (2) touchdown passes and a few nice scrambles. Great job Sean!!

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES:

-Interception drop by Frank D’Agostino; come on homey, go to make those plays!! During a post game interview, Frank Stated “It would have been the play to seal the win; it was unfortunate because I would have taken it right to the house!!” Frank did note that while he dropped the interception, “he has not given up a touchdown all year!!” Keep up the good work Frank!!

- On a long pass play to Joe Mazzitelli, it appeared that a catch was in was in the cards. While the pass wasn’t dropped, it seemed that Joe was decelerating once the ball was in the air and his legs became almost jelly like!! Coming off the field Joe stated “Yo  Bro, that was a badly thrown ball bro!!” I am pretty sure that the field turf was not kind to the knees (see injury report below). Joe, has been a standout as a “Flashback” in his first two (2) weeks, so I am allowed to rip into him a little.

INJURY REPORT:

-RB Vaughn Sanders; Groin Pull/Status for next week: Questionable - Play in question: Unavailable

-WR Eddie Palleschi; Groin Pull; Status for next week; Questionable-Play in question: Unavailable

-WR Joe Mazzitelli; Knee Scrapes; Status for next week; Questionable-Play in question: 40  yd Post Route -Play Result: Incomplete

A win is a win so we’ll take it any way we can get it. We didn’t dominate and blow the team off the field, but we are certainly back on track and it feels good. Til next week, know your routes!! Oh and by the way, Carl got the new flags and we should have them on Sat. Thanks CD!!

P.S. Did anyone see that 6′ 5″ 253 lb guy on the sideline with the small dog??? Who was that guy?? He should play with us, but I heard he’s a little scared. If anyone knows him, see if you can get him to suit up next week!! :)

Good game fellas. We definitley needed that win after losing to a team that we should of blown out. Got to shout out VS & Fazzie for scoring our tds. Vaughn you looked sharp the only difference is after the play you needed a breather. Big lou- I dont know if you watched any game footage of our win on sunday but the only points our D let up was the series you took me out! REAL TALK! By the way I was wondering if that dude with the dog, could watch OTTO during next week’s game, or if he’s gonna come to play.

  2. Frank D'Agostino Says:

The recaps get better and better each week!! Good stuff! Hopefully in a few weeks we will have video highlights!

Guys, great job all around. Defense is strong and the offense is looking much better. Lou, your regular, power and speed formations were a big help. We can start getting A bit more creative. We have to, because brady got his hands on that sheet on Sunday. He’s Looking to cheat allready.

Playing another power team this Saturday. Guys, there aren’t many weak teams, some good competition this season. Brady’s team is stacked and he’s in last place.

As long as we learn from our mistakes and get better with each game like we have been; we’ll do great. Please just be on time, get a good stretch in (We’re the flashbacks for a reason) to avoid injury and we can go over some plays.

    I’m having a blast.
Overall its been a success. Get away from work,… ;) and hangin what the fellas and fam; got to love it.

    See ya Saturday.
